Keywording API for Organisations & Resellers

As we all know… for stock images, better keywords means more sales. Images can be indexed by the search engines, found and licensed by more image-buyers and so will generate higher RPIs and earn more money.

keyword serviceTo increase the quality of keywords applied to stock photographs and illustrations already available for sale on microstock agencies, I am now releasing the picWorkflow Keywording Service as an API-based service.

Simply register with picWorkflow and integration our API into your existing systems is easy (a single API call is all it takes). I’m providing some sample code to make it even easier for microstock agencies, traditional stock libraries, and any other image-sellers who want more accurate keywords on their images to purchase excellent keywords for their existing library.

How does it work?

You upload any image (larger than 400×400 pixels) to picWorkflow (automatically from your own database/library) along with the price you wish to pay and the number of keywords you require, and when the keywording is complete the picWorkflow API will send a notification and download link for the image back to your server (to a url or email notification). There are also additional API functions to retrieve the keywords in their raw format if you don’t want to handle pulling keywords from file metadata on your server.

Payment is through the normal picWorkflow platform, and charges are made only for actual interactions (ie. additions or changes to existing keywords) so keyword audits for images which already have keywords applied are significantly cheaper than the full keywording of an image (you will only pay the per-keyword-cost where keywords are added or removed until it meets your required number of keywords).

Agencies also have the freedom to choose how much to pay, and the specific number of keywords which should be on an image. All keywording is in english, so if you have non-english keywords on your images already, they will be replaced with more western-centric keywords (great for SEO in general and specifically for the vast majority of image-buyers in the west).

Head over to the keywording api page on picWorkflow to find out how to integrate the api with your system and start driving more image-buyers to your image collection now!

What about reselling the keywording service?

I am also opening up the keywording service to resellers and other image-operators, if you are a web-design agency or corporation requiring image-keywords or if you retouch, process, prepare or submit images for stock photographers you will LOVE the picWorkflow keywording service. Your staff can spend less time on keywording, and more on creating/processing awesome images for your clients. Read more about reselling the picWorkflow keywording service here.
